My name is Mark. I am from the United States of America and grew up in a small town called Antioch in the state of Illinois. As a graduate from the University of North Dakota, I learned to fly airplanes. After college, I owned and operated a business for twelve years before moving north to Wisconsin where I lived and worked for the next three years.

During that time, I became fiends with a Chinese student who grew up in Taiyuan and attended Mercan School. He told me I would make a great English teacher and encouraged me to teach at Mercan because it is the best English School in Taiyuan. As I learned more about my friend, the school and the Chinese People, I decided to “go for it” and here I am.

China is experiencing exiting times and I am happy to be playing a small part in helping our two countries build a lasting friendship.
