My values Life is just like a drama. There are happiness and sorrow, kindness and evilness, beauty and ugliness. Everyone plays an important role in this drama. Each person can have different values so that each person is special to the others. Here is something about my values.
INDEPENDENCE
One of its meanings is the freedom and ability to make our own decisions in life, without having to ask other people for permission, help or money. For teenagers, that is something which means we are growing up, we are on the way to be an adult. We aren’t afraid of barking from cruel dogs, we no longer need to sleep with our parents, we can help with the housework. We are ready to say “goodbye” to our “sweet childhood”. And we are full of curiosity to say “hello” to our “unexpected way of growing up!” Even though, we may cry, fall down, face a lot of trouble, we believe we can bear these things. We learn a great deal of experience from each difficulty; we are learning how to stand up by ourselves again and again.
However, to be independent doesn’t mean take one’s own course without accepting the correct suggestions or opinions. We must make it clear that we are only teenagers. There are still a great many things we don’t know and many problems we have no ideas how to deal with. We really need someone experienced to lead us. Therefore be calm and patient when people try to help us to make our future brighter!
SELF-CONFIDENCE
“You must believe in yourself first, then others can believe in you” a famous writer — Ivan Turgenev said. This tells us we should have the belief that we have the ability to do things well or deal with situations successfully. We may have met these things. When we were children, our moms wanted us to sing a song for the family members, and we cried because we didn’t want to, we thought we could not sing well; when our teacher asked us to give a lecture to the whole school, but we found some excuses to refuse it because we thought we couldn’t do it well. What’s wrong with us? Just make it happen! Be confident! Believe we can sing well, even if we cannot, who cares? We are just children! Believe we can give a speech well, because our teacher believes in us, or why did she choose us!
Be confident. Make sure that where there are challenges, there is success! Don’t be afraid of the hard beginning, we all know from zero to one, it isn’t as easy as it looks!
PERSEVERANCE
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day be judged be their characters, but not by the colors of their skin. I have a dream today.” This comes from a well-known speech-I have a dream written by Martin Luther King. We all have dreams, to be a salesperson, to be a secretary, to be an architect… but, how? We know that we need knowledge, skills, passion, time, money…one thing we usually forget and do not have is perseverance. Honestly speaking, it is a hard and long way to make our dreams come true. We might meet trouble, go a wrong way, spend a lot of time, but get nothing. The worst thing we will meet is we thinking about giving up. But perseverance gives us the courage to hold it on, lights a light to make the way clearer and lets us believe if night comes, can dawn be far behind!
Be persevering. Always believe that your dream can come true and just keep working for what you want to achieve.
The time to know your values is now.
The way to be the one you want to be is to hold on your great values.
